Sin Lung played the Pleasuretone in Reading Pa. on May 31. What a fabulous night. The Pleasuretone is one of the coolest DIY spaces we’ve come across and the owner, Joe, was so unbelievably friendly and accommodating. The bands we played with — Hover and Christpipe — we met out on the street before the show as we all kind of arrived simultaneously for load in. They were super cool, which isn’t always the case when meeting other bands. Turnout for the show was awesome, too, and the folks we met and spoke with were pretty wonderful. No bullshit — the people in Reading were some of the kindest we’ve met since starting our journey a year ago. The other cool thing about Reading: It’s home to this really weird Pagoda that sits on top of a mountain, and which attracts scores of visitors throughout the day (including, while we were there, a Latino scooter gang. Ride or die, baby). Pictured here, Joe and Ben stand before the Pagoda discussing the merits of exotic revivalist architecture.
