Our single 'I Wig Out,' has had a good response on the streams, crossing the 1,000 plays threshold on Spotify, as well as listens elsewhere.
Yeah, we're just as surprised as anyone else because to be honest, it's sort of a deliberately stupid song.
The song was written after Joe came up with a nasty riff that developed into him writing a full track. We decided to put some lyrics behind it and release it as one of our first two songs. (The other was 'My Dear Friend.')
Looking to do something different, we opted for a spoken word vocal, which in the end came about by taking two previously published poems by Matt and merging them by selectively taking specific lines from each and combining them into one piece.
So, what we ended up with were lyrics about homeless people and drug addicts who Matt would see each day hanging out in this one particular park where he walked his dog, mixed with lines from a word-salad poem inspired by Dr. Phil.
Seriously.
